Oh yeah, it's past the end of the month! Forgot about this.
Uh, I changed some things again.
Total, end of May: 146,546 words / 278 pages
So the story is now six stories, the way it probably wanted to be from the start. Plus/minus based on the mid-June preliminary stats, when it was first split up.
Prequel 1 (K) - 1,056 (-)
Prequel 2 (R) - 3,261 (+27 ha)
Core (E/A) - 10,728 (+44)
Sequel 1 (R)- 32,887 (-221)
Sequel 2 (A/K) - 95,269 (+865) *still includes several thousand words that just need to be pitched
Sequel 3 (E/M) - 909 (-)
End of June total: 144,110 words (-2436). Still worth it.
Slashes are not ships. Twitch.
I feel more focused splitting things up like this, realizing, as noted, that I am writing the sequel first, dangit. But there's still forward motion, and next month I can compare apples to apples.
EDIT: Also just finished one of my "anything interesting under $2.99" purchases, Dawn by Octavia E. Butler, a.k.a. Book 1 of Lilith's Brood / Xenogenesis. Deeply, deeply strange book. My brain hurts. That strange. I can finish the whole trilogy for $9.99, and I am tempted just to get some closure on this WTFery. Which is not to say that it's bad, in any sense. Just...deeply strange.
